One of the leading groups of amateur choral movement in Poland founded and led by Marcin Wawruk, works since 2000 in Olsztyn. The trademark of the group, besides stylish and refined sound are the interpretations full of expression and joy of making music together, which can be treated as the artistic Credo.
The repertoire of the group encompasses wide spectrum of styles and periods, from ancient masterpieces to contemporary works. Besides, the significant place in their activity takes so called Unserios Music (which also means their way of doing on the stage) covering pop songs, standards, carols and folklore influenced pieces (Polish and foreign), mostly in own a cappella arrangements by the chef of ProForma, Marcin Wawruk.
The group has been successful at domestic and international festivals and competitions, awarding few dozens of prizes. Once, as the finalist of „Let the Peoples Sing“ international choir contest (London 2003, 3rd prize), it got millions of radio listeners worldwide.
ProForma cooperates regularly with Polish Radio, which resulted in CD record “Niemen a cappella” (2007) and other archive recordings, as well as frequent presence on the Polish Radio antenna and concerts in the major concert halls of the country (including the National Philharmonic Hall, Lutoslawski Concert Studio, Program 3 Studio of Polish Radio and the Royal Castle of Warsaw). The group has taken part in theatre spectacles and several shows broadcasted by television and Polish Radio. ProForma performed and recorded with pop and jazz stars of Polish music scene (including Leszek Mozdzer, Stanislaw Soyka, Marek Balata) and with symphonic and chamber orchestras.
One of the most significant and successful parts of group’s activity became its cooperation with world-class vocalist Bobby McFerrin (2010), during his “VOCABULAIRES” tour.
